The Concert Association of Florida, Inc. (CAF), a not-for-profit organization, introduces its forty-first season as the largest and most high profile presenter of classical music orchestras, soloists, opera stars and ballet and dance companies in the Southeastern United States. Coined “The Lincoln Center of the South,” CAF is led by Robert F. Hudson, Jr., Chairman of the Board, Albert Carl Milano, Chief Executive Officer, and Risë Kern, Artistic Director. Interweaving strong, committed partnerships between performers renowned for their brilliance and innovative programming, CAF serves tens of thousands of people per year by putting together a dazzling mix of the best of orchestral world music and ballet. Striving to build a culture of musical excellence and cooperation through our programming, we rely on your contributions to profoundly impact the cultural life of our community. Each year, the Concert Association of Florida features an impressive array of stars from the classical music and dance world. Concert programs include the Sanford L. Ziff Prestige Series at the Carnival Center at Knight Concert Hall, Arsht Great Performers, The Premier Series at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Fidelity Investments’ Great Orchestra Series at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and the Dolores and Sanford Ziff Dance Series at The Dolores and Sanford Ziff Ballet Opera House featuring the American Ballet Theatre. This season, CAF presents a stellar lineup of the world’s most highly acclaimed artists including Dmitri Hvorostovsky, The Israel Chamber Orchestra, The Moiseyev Dance Company, Pianists Murray Perahia, Lang, Lang, Yundi Li, and Garrick Ohlsson, Zukerman Chamber Players, Violinist Nicola Benedetti, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic with Andre watts, piano, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, State Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Dresden Philharmonic, Philharmonia of London, Ballet Folklorico de Mexico, Julio Bocca Ballet Argentino, and American Ballet Theatre’s South Florida premier presentation of The Sleeping Beauty. CAF also sponsors free master classes and educational opportunities for South Florida’s most talented young music and dance students. Former Master Classes and Outreach Initiatives include world renowned artists such as violinist Janine Jansen, soloist with The Cleveland Orchestra, pianist Lang Lang in a public Master Class televised throughout South Florida, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in a week-long residency program at Parkway Middle School as well as free, Pre-Concert Lectures hosted by….. prior to each concert at the Broward Center. CAF also produces student performances sponsored by the Miami-Dade and Broward County School Boards. CAF-sponsored Young People’s Concerts are a welcome addition to each and every season’s performances. |
